In light of recent events, we feel it is crucial to address an incident involving a mobile advertising van that has caused significant concern and distress within the Muslim community. This van, spotted in Toronto, displayed messages that many have interpreted as spreading dangerous and divisive rhetoric. The Toronto Police Hate Crime Unit is currently reviewing video footage of the van, which displayed the following messages:
“Is this Yemen? Is this Syria? Is this Iraq?” followed by images of Muslims kneeling in prayer, and concluding with, “No. This is Canada. Wake up Canada. You are under siege.”
First and foremost, we want to unequivocally state that this van does not belong to our company, and we had no involvement in this campaign. Our business is built on the principles of respect and inclusivity, and we categorically condemn any form of hatred or discrimination.
As a company that operates mobile billboard cube vans, we are deeply troubled by the use of such platforms to spread messages of division and fear. Advertising should be a tool for communication and connection, not for promoting intolerance or inciting hostility against any community.
We stand in solidarity with our Muslim brothers and sisters and the entire Toronto community during this time. Hate has no place in our city, our country, or our world. We urge everyone to foster understanding, respect, and unity.
We appreciate the efforts of the Toronto Police Hate Crime Unit in investigating this matter and trust that justice will be served. In the meantime, we will continue to ensure that our services are used responsibly and positively, contributing to a society where everyone feels safe and valued.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Sincerely,
